15 prospects for Detroit Lions on Day 3: Classic high-character depth and a few risk-reward options to consider, as well
Allen Park — The Detroit Lions have checked off the team’s two most significant long-term needs through the first two days of the 2026 draft, adding offensive tackle Blake Miller and edge defender Derrick Moore.
The Lions utilized one of seven Day 3 selections, No. 128 in the fourth round, to move up six spots on Friday to secure Moore. That still leaves the team with a half-dozen picks to flesh out the depth chart on Saturday.
Admittedly, projecting what the team might do at this stage can be a little like throwing darts. Still, we know enough about Detroit’s lingering roster holes, as well as schematic and character preferences, to take some educated stabs.
Here are 15 players to keep an eye on through the final four rounds, listed in alphabetical order.
Rayshaun Benny, DT, Michigan
Detroit already has two Wolverines along its defensive front. How about a third? Benny is an ascending talent showing promise as both a run stopper and pocket disruptor. He’s got good length and strength, turning heads with a strong showing at the Senior Bowl, which is always a plus for the Lions. He could round out the team’s tackle rotation, filling a void created by the departure of Roy Lopez.
Dallen Bentley, TE, Utah
