Allen Park — Had his senior year at the University of Florida not been derailed before it started by a high ankle sprain, there’s a good chance offensive lineman Kingsley Eguakun gets drafted last April.

Good size, elite athleticism, unimpeachable work ethic and experience battling college football’s best slate of defensive linemen is the type of resume any team would seemingly covet. But after being limited to four games in 2023 — and never truly 100% for any those appearances — Eguakun watched 257 players get selected without his name being called.

Given the aforementioned profile, he thankfully didn’t lack for interest as an undrafted free agent. With that ability to choose his first NFL home, he prioritized being in the best environment. And for an offensive lineman, there’s arguably no better spot than Detroit.
