Carter, who played collegiately for the Black Knights, will report to Fort Sill in Oklahoma when his football career is over to begin a five-year military commitment.
Don't we love the Lions sign a guy like this, look for those grinders and put in the work to get better. Every once in a while, someone like this comes through and is a good player.
Also glad a player like this wants to come to Detroit. We don't want that talented guy that needs to learn how to work, not at the bottom of the roster. I consider the Practice Squad as part of the bottom of the roster and Carter has as clear of a path to playing as anyone on the PS.
Appreciate this one today and love to root for this guy.
It also makes me feel old as I dropped out of college to join the military in the days following 9/11. Wild that the academy kids today weren’t even born in 2001. #NeverForget

I think this was a brilliant signing. Now it is up to the coaching staff to mold him into an effective member of the DE rotation.
Good stuff, loving all these features of lesser known coaches and players.
Kudos to Brad for giving this exceptional soldier a shot!

Thank you for your service!
Rooting for the man. Would love to see him out there.
