I am definitely not a fan of what Gibbs has done here. This organization has taken care of its stars, and done so early. I understand the tactic, but he will soon be a week behind his teammates. To me, it's a big finger thrown at the organization.

When we say it’s a game you say it’s a business.” Gibbs is making a business decision. IMO, a prudent decision. If he blows a knee or Achilles, his contract is over this year, and there won’t be an extension.
No position in professional football is talked about like running back. Some downplay its importance in the modern game, and others see RBs as rapidly depreciating assets that are near-worthless after injury or age 28. Gibbs is in a somewhat precarious bargaining position and has played his cards cautiously. But he hasn't popped off or made himself more than a minor camp story. Fingers crossed against injury, he doesn't need the reps. He knows the offense and how to run to daylight.
I fully expect Gibbs to be on the practice field next week. My opinion was always that he was waiting for Robinson to get paid before he signed his deal.
Robinson is a bigger part of Atlanta's offense, not that I think he's a better back. The Falcons had to step up, so I can understand why Gibbs' team wanted to wait.
Time to sign and report. New OC, a lot of new moving parts on the O-line. New chemistry. He's the #1 offensive target. Time to join the team.

It’s 100% injury risk related. Especially on a team that has experienced a TON of injuries in the last couple years.
He tears an Achilles in practice and he gets nothing.
