Allen Park — Welcome back to Week 10 of our 2027 NFL Draft Watch for the Detroit Lions, where we highlight three college prospects with televised matchups who overlap with the team’s projected needs for the upcoming offseason.
Let’s kick things off by looking at how the three players we highlighted last week performed in their matchups.
A.J. Holmes Jr., DL, Texas Tech
The fifth-year senior continued to be a pass-rushing force in the Red Raiders’ bounceback win over Arizona, racking up five quarterback pressures and a sack. Holmes now has a personal best 7.5 sacks on the season.
Chris Peal, CB, Syracuse
An outside corner a year ago, Peal played a season-high 43 snaps at deep safety in an upset victory over SMU. He allowed just one reception on two targets, with a pass breakup on the second. He also chipped in eight tackles, including five solo stops, rubber stamping his abilities in this department.
Jelani Thurman, TE, North Carolina
The Tar Heels pushed the No. 1 team in the country, Miami, to the brink before ultimately falling short, 38-35. Thurman provided a jolt for North Carolina offense, catching five passes for 70 yards, including a pair of touchdowns in the first half.
