Allen Park — Welcome back to Week 8 of our 2027 NFL Draft Watch for the Detroit Lions, where we highlight three college prospects with televised matchups who overlap with the team’s projected needs for the upcoming offseason.
Let’s kick things off by looking at how the three players we highlighted last week performed in their matchups.
Jamari Sharpe, CB, Indiana
Going against the country’s best receiver, and potentially the No. 1 pick in April’s draft, Jeremiah Smith, Sharpe had an up-and-down day.
In the first half, Sharpe reached around Smith for a deflection that was intercepted by a teammate. However, Smith got the better of the defender on a deep ball in the fourth quarter that resulted in the go-ahead and game-winning touchdown for Ohio State.
Overall, Sharpe allowed three grabs for 63 yards on eight targets with a pair of pass breakups.
Kam Franklin, Edge, Ole Miss
