Allen Park — Here are some notes and observations from the Detroit Lions’ Wednesday afternoon training camp practice.
● Participation is trending in the right direction with a few players returning to action. Among those back in uniform were wide receiver Jameson Williams, cornerback Nick Whiteside, defensive tackle Myles Adams and offensive tackle Devin Cochran.
Still sidelined were running back Isiah Pacheco (knee), guard Ben Bartch, center Cade Mays (wrist), defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo (head), edge defender Payton Turner (back) and linebackers Jimmy Rolder (hamstring) and Damone Clark.
Joining the list of non-participants on Wednesday was tight end Sam LaPorta. That bumped Tyler Conklin up the rep chart, giving the veteran plenty of work with the first-team offense.
We’ll look to get updates on Bartch and LaPorta during coach Dan Campbell’s media session on Thursday.
● Full-team work opened with the offense pinned deep in their own territory, working a simulated drive.
On the first snap, rookie tackle Blake Miller did a nice job holding up Aidan Hutchinson, allowing quarterback Jared Goff to find Williams on a deeper curl.
Cornerback Ennis Rakestraw broke up the next throw, also intended for Williams, but Goff moved the chains with a pretty floater to St. Brown, over Rock Ya-Sin.
