Detroit Lions cut center Graham Glasgow
Allen Park — The Detroit Lions have cut veteran center Graham Glasgow in a move that was largely anticipated heading into the offseason.
Glasgow posted a farewell message on Twitter, thanking the organization.
I’m grateful for the 7 years I’ve spent as a Detroit Lion. I’m thankful for the great teammates, coaches, and friends I had along the way. I love this city and the fans that have supported me for the better part of a decade. There truly was no place I would have rather been.
Whether the times were good or bad, I’m proud of the time that I was able to spend here. Detroit and being a Lion has had a huge impact on making me into the man that I am today, and because of that, it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I wish the Lions, especially my former teammates, nothing but the best. I will always be a fan of the guys who I took the field with, and I’ll always be a fan of the team that changed my life. Thank you!
A third-round pick for Detroit in 2016, Glasgow quickly earned a starting job as a rookie. Initially playing left guard, he shifted to center at the end of his inaugural season and stayed in the role the next two seasons, until Frank Ragnow took over.
Glasgow started at right guard in 2019, but was part of a controversial rotation at that spot. That led to his offseason departure, when he netted a lucrative, multi-year offer with Denver.
Injuries marred Glasgow’s time with the Broncos, and after his release in 2023, he opted to return to the Lions on a one-year deal.
Initially expected to serve as a reserve, injuries opened the door for Glasgow to start. He performed so well with the opportunity, he earned a three-year extension from the team the following offseason.
Glasgow was shifted to right guard in 2024, to make room for free-agent addition Kevin Zeitler, then moved back to center last season, following Ragnow’s retirement.
In seven total seasons with the Lions, Glasgow appeared in 110 games and made 103 starts.
His release clears $5.56 million in cap space, but creates a hole at center. The Lions added one option, former second-round pick Juice Scruggs, in a trade earlier in the day on Monday. The team will also likely bring in competition during the next couple months, whether via free agency or the draft.

I am assuming this is false but breer said he retired
The right move. It’s too bad but we all age out sooner or later
