The Lions announced the signing of 15 players to the team’s practice squad on Wednesday afternoon, leaving one spot still to be filled on the 16-man taxi squad.
Who do we think will be more often than not the protected 4 from practice squad? I'm going to make sure to check that out each week. My guesses: Meeks, Skipper, Colon, and Hallet
I suppose that’s the house is burning down plan. But it seems unwise to not have a practice squad QB learning the system to activate if Goff and/or Allen go down. Weren’t the Lions the sponsor of the standby QB rule? Maybe it’s too early in the morning for my brain to fire on all cylinders. I just can’t imagine that Brad and team aren’t actively scouring the FA pool for a QB to round out the PS.
I guess this means Muti is a non factor with this team. Kinda strange with the fact of two young guards starting and only Awoshika as the lone vet back up. 🤷♂️

If the lions believe the ps is an extension of their roster this ps makes sense.
Heavy at C and IOL where they are depleted right now
Adams incase IDL goes down...
Bell is there if anything happens to leif or Teslaa now that Patrick is gone.
Kennelly is not on the team because they have 3 back up safties after the pickup from the jags
Ukwu over Lynn because Ukwu plays they want that end to play.
Should Lions bring Hooker back or is his unique spread offense roots and lack of development mean Lions should wish him best of luck on another team?
It was reported yesterday around 1 p.m. that he was signing with Carolina's practice squad.
So who’s the emergency QB? Skipper?
Probably a David Montgomery-led wildcat, if I were to guess.

Meeks will need a place to stay. Maybe at his uncle’s place?
Matt...
Very happy for Meeks.
Do we really need Ronnie Bell and Adams on the squad over Nate Lynn and Ian Kennelly?!?!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Lions bring back all their own camp guys. Not a single “outsider”. Not even a “He was a Lion a couple years ago” guy.
Seems like the last spot is likely reserved for a 3rd string QB?
Justin the other day I think you said PS players make 22k a week. If they get elevated to a game do they get a bonus?
Vets make more. They get 1/17 veteran minimum if elevated for a game. So, yes, big pay bump.
Justin: do you think it's possible Skip was cut early to give him a chance to put feelers out about the possibility of signing to somebody else's 53?
No. The cut wasn't official until yesterday afternoon, prohibiting those conversations, technically.
What might be the reason that Skip or his agent would release the info so early?
Wingo might be a run stopping DE at RDE. As a back up.
I think we will get pass rush from Barnes and Nowaskie too. May be Lynn is a liability in run stops?

I think that’s about Miles Frazier not being far off.
Yeah, no Kennelly seems odd.
I'm surprised at the lack of defensive backs. Only five corners on the 53, and no true CBs here.
Yasin and Maddox
I get that, but its still pretty light on CB depth. Surprised one of Whiteside, George, Russell or Barqoo didn't make the PS.
Might sign one of them or get from someone else. One spot is remaining, right?
Yes, but they also could use a PS QB...
Yup. I forgot.
