Allen Park — It’s not often a team celebrates allowing 30 points, but against the Ravens in Baltimore, it’s actually pretty good, especially when you consider how the Detroit Lions got the job done on Monday night.
In the victory, the Lions largely shut down the run, forced a turnover, and got some stops in the red zone.
Let’s take a closer look at the film of the defense’s success.
Stopping the run
With just 85 rushing yards, the Ravens had their third-lowest ground output in a game started by Lamar Jackson.
That alone is impressive, but exponentially more so when you consider Detroit surrendered 48 yards, on four carries, during Baltimore’s opening drive.
After those early struggles, the Lions shut down the ground game, which is arguably the biggest key to beating the Ravens.
