Pulling for Whiteside to stick around and eventually carve out a back-up role. Hope we don't have to go that deep this year, I assume even Flowers is ahead of him if the Lions have to start dipping into the PS for CBs. But let him stick on the PS this year and come back next year, maybe even another year after that but work into like the 4th or 5th CB.
Guess it's just the local aspect so no real reason why I like him. That's okay, I'm a fan and I can be a homer.
Any chance the Lions are going to slow walk Alim so he's fresh for the eventual injury on the d-line? (don't shoot me for saying that) It seems the Lions are fine against the run with Reader and Williams, and Alim would bolster the pass rush, but might it not be a smart play?
As conservative as the Lions are about injuries, I'm not worried about them rushing Alim back. If they put him out there, then he is ready. And I'm sure he'll be on a conservative play count for his first several games.
I sure would. He wouldn't play until after the Bye and then work him in. Going to be interesting with where they play him, DT is a stacked position on the Lions.
What’s the purpose of the 21 day practice window? Are players prevented from practicing on IR, so this allows them to practice before activated? And the time limit is just a way to keep things on the up and up?
Correct. You may not practice on IR. The acclimation window saves the team from having to use an active roster spot on a player who is not physically ready to play. Being in shape does not equate to being in football shape.

They are slow walking Alim. He said recently that he’s been ready for a few weeks, but they’ve been giving him extra time.
Was whiteside sitting on the couch before this?
Yes. Well, probably working out at a gym, but unsigned.
