The ditty about Fromm triggered a minor thought: assuming Hooker is a better athlete than Fromm, how much of his on-field performance can be attributed to nerves vs lack of complete command of the playbook?

I'm guessing it's almost entirely the former. Or is it that even as a merry-go-round QB, Fromm's experience increased his awareness and value, while Hooker's lack of experience is the primary driver for where he finds himself?

Don't have to look further than Jamarco Jones last year who was signed in mid-August, went to the practice squad and was called up multiple times, played in 2 games.

Whiteside looks like the guy this year that could just make the team.

It motivates the whole team in a way, especially if you are near the bottom yourself. They can be a nice reminder how much the love to play football can be and how to just keep grinding. There are worst things than spending the season on the practice squad and on this team they might not play but they are a part of the team and they get a ring if they win it all.
