At the beginning of the year, we were concerned about the strength of schedule for these daunting Lions. Well...Minny...not so great. Philly...going downhill and no longer a powerhouse. The Chefs...same thing only worse. The Bucs...a growing disaster. The Redskins...working hard to get the number one draft pick in 2026. The cowboys...all hat. The Bears...maybe moving ahead of the Lions. Cincy...a sinking ship that even Joey might abandon. Baltimore...still reeling after Lions bludgeoned them. The Pack...experts at paying off the officials. Pitty...ghosts of another era. The Rams...the revenge of the Staffords. The Lions will be lucky to escape with their tails still attached on Sunday.

The Lions have done a good job of making a not so difficult schedule more difficult. As I have always believed, the previous year does not carry over into the next...except for a few really great teams from time to time. While the Lions have been spinning their paws, it looks like there are a few teams ready to bolt ahead of them making the road to a super bowl that much steeper.

One game at a time… we certainly have the capability to pull off an upset here… whether we win or lose we still will most likely be favorites in at least two of our last three games. If we win 3 out of 4 we are most likely in and then anything can happen.

Rams could be in for a 2-game losing streak if the Lions can win. LA has a pretty quick turnaround playing the Seahawks on Thursday night in Seattle.

We know about the way teams are beat up after playing the Lions and have a terrible record the week after because of it and now they got a short week and playing an important game against another physical team. Lions win this game and they could easily pass the Rams..

Also, pulling hard for a 2-game losing streak for the Pack, going to Denver and Chicago could do it.

The division is still a possibility but the seeding in the NFC is going to be interesting.

We are suddenly back to hoping and praying for a miracle.

Not really a miracle but certainly a hope for the division title, but I like to hope, not afraid of disappointment I guess.

But that doesn't matter that much, just make the playoffs and it's right in front of them.

Plenty of Super Bowl winners were Wild Card and this looks like the kind of year it could happen again. The Lions are more than capable of going on the road and beating any of these guys provided the Lions have some sort of health.

Interesting note on the Panthers. If they win this week, it makes their Week 17 game against the Seahawks meaningless in their division title chase. Could lead to them resting some players that week.

1) We have to win our own game.

2) We need everyone else above us in the standings to lose.
