The re-signing secures much needing linebacker depth for Detroit. And with Alex Anzalone’s departure, it opens the door for Rodriguez to reclaim a larger defensive role
Works for me--Rodrigo knows the defense (players and coaches). Plus one year removed from injury, and on a cheap 1 year (prove-it) contract, he will earn his keep if only on ST.
He was awful in that last game once Ben Johnson realized he couldn’t cover a bed. Hopefully for his sake it was rust or he can make plays special teams because the guy vs the Bears won’t make the squad out of preseason
He'd make this team for special teams alone...he should not be seen as a Will linebacker but a backup to Jack or the Sam role. He is good at attacking down hill not trying to be this crazy athlete running with TE's
Chicago showed he will be isolated in coverage if he’s out there on D, so I don’t see him playing positively at any spot if the guy from the end of the year shows up. I honestly hope it was rust coming off the ACL rehab, heck Alim didn’t look good either.
That’s one of the things fans hating Brad forget, he KNOWS what’s going on with that shoulder. I don’t think they thought he was even gonna try to comeback. It’s a testament to his heart and pain tolerance but ain’t no way he practices and plays 18 weeks
No he didn’t. Kerby got hurt in training camp and then again in the season. Kerby had to have the same physical that Maxx Crosby did before the contract could be signed. Medical has to clear all guys before a contract is signed

It's weird to me how poor Rodrigo is in pass coverage since he played safety in college.
Fresh of an ACL injury and rusty, can’t overlook that.
Have the Lions gotten better at any position group over last year? Yeah they signed Mays but lost Decker so that’s a wash.
The only thing washed was Decker. Lions have the medicals they know what they’re doing
Will be very interesting to see if Decker can pass any team's physical, and if he gets a contract offer and for how much.

He didn't know KNOW Kerby Joseph had a wrecked knee when he made him the highest paid safety in the league.

If he can stay healthy...a good move.
