Several depth players making plays. Jamo...new contract and thus MIA? Wright and TeSlaa each have more TDs. Lions still killing themselves with penalties. The refs still killing the Lions with bogus penalties. However, we are as good as any team in the league except maybe Indy. What?
Kind of crazy that if you told me at the beginning of the season that we would be 4-1 after the first 5 games I would have been ecstatic knowing the daunting schedule we faced.
Justin or actually anyone who was paying attention, how did Manu do? The sack that Hendrickson got sounded like it was on Wright according to the commentators since it was play-action and (I think they implied) the play design called for the LT to turn towards the line leaving Wright to handle (or not) Hendrickson (which sounds nuts to me).
Manu was serviceable in run blocking, but made a couple of horrible mistakes in pass pro. The first was not hearing an audible, leading to Hendrickson's strip-sack. The other was against Ossai, who beat him cleanly for the final sack. You're right, though, there was also the play where Manu blocks towards the line as part of selling the play-action, and Wright completely whiffs on the backside protection.
Great result, and all wins are great wins in the NFL. But. Absolutely astonishing that they did not do a better job on Chase in the 4th quarter. He's their only grade A weapon. Kelvin owns that. Penalty parade once again not helpful.
So the local Fox broadcast in Alabama switched to the Washington game right at the start of the fourth quarter! Crazy! Score was 20-10 in Washington game. 28-3 Lions, which ended up with more scoring than the game they switched to. Hope Manu learns and bounces back from his mistakes today! Good to see the offense able to find a way starting a new left tackle! Dan is the Man!
I hope every day that he is able to replace Decker, Decker has always been good, never great! He has been better as he matured, and I do like him as a player, but father time stops for no one. If Manu is able to continue to improve, Brad is able to save some money in the LT position, which is going to be needed in the future.
I’ll take the W, and hopefully no long-term issues with the injuries. The bogus p.i. on 3rd down on the first Chase TD drive clearly was a momentum changer.
The only thing worse than the officiating was this broadcast crew….. comfortable lead and injuries in the secondary made this less than spectacular, but this team CAN win at KC, at PHILLY, at WASH and home vs Minnesota in the coming weeks and that’s exciting.
KC will be a tough win without Decker and several DBs. Hopefully we get back Alim to offset this.

Now I’m pissed we lost to the Packers😖

Someone please educate me.

Thank you!
4-1. Need to go 4-1 in next five. KC, TB, MN, WSH and PHI
Slacker. 5-0 is the STANDARD!😄
These five games are key to the season. 5-0 would be incredible.

Manu more good than bad today, I think, but the bad was BAD. Hopefully he grows from it like you say. I am optimistic about his future.

We should have had a couple more turnovers. I do think that this wasn’t the best team to play a ton of man. Enjoy the drive home

Did you know Daryl Johnston used to play for the Cowboys? 🙃
