It might be backups covering backups next week. It doesn't seem likely, based on the reports out there, that Evans, Godwin or Egbuka will play.

The Lions helped the Chiefs restore their swagger with Mahomes showing everyone he is the difference maker.

The game was slip-sliding away after that long opening drive and the busted TD. The bigger test will come Monday night. No Branch? Kirby possibly ailing? Maker Bayfield 387 yards and 4 TDs? How this team bounces back and overcomes mounting adversity will go a long way towards defining the rest of the season.

MCDC really needs to emphasize playing cleaner. The penalties kill the efforts and repeated penalties are a coaching failure. Even Hutch who had two steps to do something different other than lay out Patty. I mean it’s Patty after all, we all know they aren’t going to look the other way when you lay him out like that.

The DPI on Rock was pretty sketchy. Hutch must have lost his situation awareness because that clearly was a penalty. It sounds like the Lions didn't fully understand the rule about quarterback leaving the center and going in motion. Goff said he thought he was good because he didn't put his hands under Center. They only had four penalties overall, and no turnovers except for Saint dropping that fourth down pass. The Chiefs figured out how to work the intermediate center part of the field, especially in the second half, and the Lions didn't seem to be able to find an answer. The offense also had a couple of untimely three and outs. Finally, the Chiefs are still a really good team and they're going to get even better next week when Rashee Rice comes back.

Get rid of Branch! He has been nothing but a liability this year. His ridiculous penalties have cost so much to this team. He might even get a suspension for that dumb hit to the head after the game.

Absurd statement. Dudes a top 5 safety, maybe more. I’m fully agreed that he needs a team suspension (if it overlaps with a league suspension, so be it, but he needs to hear from the team that this is unacceptable)

I agree. I’d rather have a losing season with a shorthanded team than have someone very undisciplined.

Not a chance. It was a mistake, there were things done and said earlier, lots of chit chat between plays. An excuse, no, just frustration

Montgomery getting 4 carries is odd.

They got behind against a team they couldn't stop and the game was no longer on their terms. It's happened before.

But the fans who complained that Jamo wasn't getting touches in victory should be happy now, so there's that.

That’s true. Maybe just hand him the ball at the goal line? Rather than throwing the ball?

Hard loss, but if they can use this as an opportunity to clean up and play better in the long run, I think we’ll be ok. On to Tampa

Branch is going to be suspended next week now.. what a selfish, nonsensical move.
