Provolone is the way to go for a cheesesteak. I never got into Whiz but provolone was my favorite.

I watched the whole Vikings pregame intro video you linked and that testifies to its riveting appeal when this fast-clicking fool idles on it. It would be hard to top.

You omitted the Rams in the 50-50 game discussion, so I guess they're better? Lord, forgive me for suggesting this...

I have wished now for last number of years since the Lions became really good that they would open up with the Motown song, Get Ready! Everybody knows it, everybody can sing along, especially with the words on the Jumbotron and it would be just so fun and Detroit oriented.

I'm torn on this game Sunday. In the Lions favor is that the Eagles offense has been out of sync all year with the new OC, and they haven't figured that out yet. Also the Super Bowl hangover year, when they have already won it the next year there often is a slight drop in urgency. In the Eagles favor is that their D-line is, by far, the best the Lions have faced, and the Lions o-line has been inconsistent and now touched by injuries. And home field.

I understand fully the logic behind the decline in Williams' playing time. But is it disappointing that a #1 draft pick is down to 10 plays a game?

No, especially when your round 2 pick is playing every snap, every game. You don't have room for draft picks to play because of great drafting in the past. Where would a first-round pick be making a major impact? Not QB, WR, RB, TE, maybe o-line, but like I said, you filled that in the second round.

Defensively, there wasn't an edge available when the Lions were on the clock. Look where the next wave of them went, and how they might have even fit schematically. LB, no. DB, sure, but only because of injuries. Same reason Williams played early, but isn't now. If the Lions drafted a CB in round one, it would have been weird after signing Reed. Safety? Behind two Pro Bowl talents? No sense.

Plus though they may have been informed he was thinking about it Rags did not announce his retirement until June 1.
