We're in the true NFL offseason, the several weeks between the conclusion of the early stages of the offseason program and the start of training camp. This is when players and coaches mentally rest and reset for the upcoming season. But how can we rest when the mailbox is full?
Man, can they pull this off, can they keep the gang together. JaMo really makes this offense so dangerous but you got to sign Branch and LaPorta is just about as important. BTW, Gibbs and Campbell 2nd contract talk starts in 27 and by the time we get to 28 we are talking about another contract for St Brown.
I still think there is something they can do if they can push a lot of Cap to 30 and 31 and that massive windfall that will come. The young ages of these players help because you can feel okay with extending them.
I’m guessing it’ll come down to LaPorta or Williams - and that decision will likely come down to health, cost, scheme fit, and ability to replace, in that order. Because of that, I’d lean Williams if he’s continues to ascend, even if the price tag is higher than LaPorta.
They can sign LaPorta and Branch for what JaMo could cost. Okay, maybe 80% of what LaPorta and Branch would cost. If they push it off to after his 5th year figuring they could franchise him, now you are bumping heads with Gibbs and Campbell looking for a extension
Lot of WRs coming out in the drafts now, if the Lions use a 1st round pick they should get a decent WR. It will be interesting to see what they do in the draft next year, if they draft a WR high in the draft that would signal they are thinking get the 5th year out of JaMo and move on. If they don't make a high investment on a WR unless TeSlaa looks like a stud WR it means they want to figure out a way to keep JaMo.
Two things on the other side of that, Holmes already decided once not to pay a pretty good and young TE with Hockenson. Was that just player specific or is it a sign of how he views paying TEs.
The other thing is they are not going to replace JaMo, his speed and burst is truly elite and put it with his "GRIT", that's pretty hard to find and the reason Holmes traded up to get him..
Nope, need to find a way to keep everybody, a man can dream.

Two factors to remember are.

I see what you did there, calling the all whites "snowman" instead of the more used "marshmallows". I like it.
The blueberries are my favorite uniforms, though. We have good luck in then most of the time.
