Something the Lions need to keep on the back burner just in case.
The depth is a little iffy, maybe a lot iffy right now. If Davenport went down today we can't like the options for DE. Muhamad is a decent rotational player and Hassanin isn't ready. Are we ready to count on Adams or any of the others.
I still think Za Smith is coming with or without another injury to the DL, but if there is another injury Holmes will have to bring someone in and it could be Juden.
“Just worried about evaluating the guys we got here right now,” Campbell said Friday. “We’ve got a good crop of guys in here, young players. We’re about to go see what we can pull out of them, see what we can develop, see what comes from it and we’ll take it from there.”
They are only another O-line or D-line injury from a major meltdown with having to use not-so-experienced talent to fill the voids. I don't think they are going to make it to Green Bay in six weeks without losing a few regulars somewhere.
I can't think of an example of this, but there may also be something to putting together a list of mid season potential additions if injuries happen. Starting the conversations now and then having that list ready to pull the trigger on in an emergency
“Or maybe floating Judon’s name out there is a leverage play in an effort to lower Smith’s price tag into a range the Lions are comfortable paying.” DING DING DING we have a winner
It’s not a huge surprise that a quality free agent has an interest in a Super Bowl quality team. It would be interesting to see who else he has worked out for
We absolutely don’t need another edge guy. Until we do.
Heavy reported this as speculation. Until he works out for the Lions I'll assume it's just rumors.
Heavy should not be used as a source. They don't have boots on the ground. They are aggregators and it might just be AI bots.
Maybe they will, maybe they won't. It's the NFL.

Yep. Just in case. Tell me when he comes in for a work out.😁
Dan Campbell on edge rushers.

I sure hope Dan Campbell is coaching the players he has, isn't that what a HC is supposed to be doing?
Let Holmes work on bringing in players, that's why they pay him.

The pro personnel department always maintains a running list.

Not for the Lions!
