Allen Park — The first day on the job is almost never easy. Now imagine performing that job in front of hundreds of thousands of people?

No thanks.

But that’s exactly the daunting task former Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate faced when he served as a broadcast analyst for the team’s preseason opener against the New York Giants last Thursday.

“Yeah, this was the first live bullets I had,” Tate said in an exclusive interview during Monday night’s Lions practice. “I've been prepping for it on Zoom with my coach, talking through stuff, but in reality, I was a rookie all over again. First time walking into the stadium and being in that environment.”
