● Injury report: For the Lions, defensive back Christian Izien is questionable with a groin injury. The Saints have ruled out defensive lineman Cameron Jordan, tight end Oscar Delp and running back Audric Estimé. Veteran running back Alvin Kamara is questionable.
● Officiating assignment: Alan Eck’s crew. He last worked a Detroit game for the team’s 2025 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
● Uniform combination: Blue jersey, blue pants, blue socks.
● Last meeting: Sam Laporta set career-highs with nine catches for 140 yards in a 33-28 victory in Week 13 of the 2023 season.
Three things worth watching
● Preseason aside, this will be our first look at several new starters, from long-term answers to bridge solutions.
That includes one from each of those categories along the offensive line, where we’ll get our first real look at first-round draft pick Blake Miller, as well as center Juice Scruggs, who will be filling in for injured starter Cade Mays, and Ben Bartch, who is expected to rotate at left guard.
