Active roster injuries
Cornerback Amik Robertson
Robertson popped up on the injury report with a hamstring strain on Nov. 13 . He’s questionable for the team’s Week 11 game against Philadelphia. (Updated: Nov. 14)
Cornerback Terrion Arnold
Arnold exited the team’s Week 10 game against Washington with a concussion and will need to go through the return-to-play protocol before he can get back on the field.
Arnold wasn’t cleared to return to practice for the week leading up to the team’s Week 11 game against Philadelphia and has been ruled out for the contest. (Updated: Nov. 14)
Safety Kerby Joseph
Joseph has been dealing with a nagging knee injury since training camp. He briefly exited both the Week 5 and Week 6 games after aggravating the issue. He’ll miss his fourth consecutive game when the Lions travel to Philadelphia to play the Eagles in Week 11.
“Well, the irritation is not going away as fast as we had hoped,” Campbell said during a weekly interview with 97.1-FM on Nov. 4. “There is improvement, but it’s just not quite there yet. We’re not going to force this thing until we get it calmed down as much as we can.” (Updated: Nov. 14)
Long-term injuries
Tight end Sam LaPorta
Due to a back injury, LaPorta didn’t practice all week leading up to the team’s Week 11 matchup with Philadelphia. He was ruled out on Friday afternoon and placed on injured reserve the next day.
He won’t be eligible to return to action until the team’s Dec. 14 game against the Rams in Los Angeles. (Updated: Nov. 14)
Cornerback DJ Reed
Reed exited the team’s Week 4 game against the Cleveland Browns with a hamstring injury. On Oct. 1, he was placed on injured reserve. He’s first eligible to return to action for the team’s Week 10 matchup against Washington.
Reed was spotted running on the side with a trainer during the team’s Oct. 28 practice. On Nov. 7, Campbell loosely projected that Reed would be out of action until early December.
The Lions started Reed’s three-week practice clock on Nov. 12. On Friday, Nov. 14, Campbell expressed belief the veteran cornerback would need a little more practice time before he’s activated.
“I don’t see D.J. (playing) yet,” Campbell said. “I love where he’s at. He’s getting better.” (Updated: Nov. 14)
Defensive end Marcus Davenport
After suffering ankle and chest injuries in Week 2, Davenport spent a week being evaluated by multiple doctors for the latter issue. Ruling out Davenport for Week 3 on Sept. 20, Campbell said he didn’t anticipate the injury being season-ending.
On Sept. 22, hours ahead of kickoff with the Ravens, the Lions formally placed Davenport on injured reserve, meaning he’s required to miss at least the next four games. He’ll be eligible to return to action for the team’s Oct. 20 game against Tampa Bay.
The Lions started Davenport’s three-week practice clock on Nov. 12. (Updated: Nov. 12)
Defensive lineman Josh Paschal
Paschal has been on the shelf with a back injury. Originally expected to be back close to the start of the season, Paschal was kept on NFI after roster cutdowns.
On Oct. 31, Campbell said the defender is still likely a few weeks away from practicing. Five days later, the team started the defender’s three-week practice clock.
“He looks great,” Campbell said on Nov. 7. “As you would expect, a little bit sore. But he got a really good day on Wednesday, did a little individual yesterday. …He’ll be roaring next week again. But, very much like (Alim McNeill) Mac, he was in there on Wednesday, tearing it up. Really pushing our guys, which is good. (Updated: Nov. 7)
Guard Christian Mahogany
Mahogany suffered a broken bone in his left leg in the team’s Week 9 game against Minnesota. He’ll be out “a while,” according to Campbell, but the team remains hopeful he’ll be able to return in December.
“I mean, relative to injuries, that’s a good thing,” Campbell said about the break. “I think it will heal up. It will be stronger than it was before.”
Mahogany was officially transferred to injured reserve on Nov. 5. (Updated: Nov. 5)
Offensive lineman Miles Frazier
The rookie has been out of action since late May with a knee injury. Frazier remained on PUP when the roster was trimmed to 53 to start the regular season.
On Nov. 5, the team started Frazier’s three-week practice clock.
“No training camp, no nothing, so this will be a little bit of a baby fawn at the beginning, and then he’ll quickly go,” Campbell said. (Updated: Nov. 5)
Offensive tackle Gio Manu
Manu popped up on the practice report with a knee injury on Oct. 9 and didn’t take the field the following day. Initially listed as questionable for the team’s Week 6 game with Kansas City, he was downgraded to out on Oct. 11.
Later that day, Manu was transferred to IR.
On Nov. 5, Campbell said Manu was still a few weeks from returning to practice. (Updated: Nov. 5)
Linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez
Rodriguez has been making steady progress with his recovery from the torn ACL he suffered against the Chicago Bears last Thanksgiving. He did have a second, cleanup procedure during the summer to address some scar tissue, slightly delaying his timetable to return.
Campbell said the team expects to start Rodriguez’s practice clock on Oct. 28. They’ll have three weeks from that date to add him to the active roster. (Updated: Oct. 27)
Linebacker Zach Cunningham
After missing three weeks with a strained hamstring, Cunningham reaggravated the injury in his return to action, Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On Oct. 22, he was placed on injured reserve. That means he’ll miss at least the next four games. He’ll first be eligible to return to action when the Lions host the Packers on Thanksgiving. (Updated: Oct. 22)
Cornerback Khalil Dorsey
After clearing concussion protocol on Oct. 2, Dorsey suffered a wrist injury during the day’s practice, causing him to be ruled out for the team’s Week 5 game against Cincinnati.
On Oct. 6, the day after that game, Campbell announced the veteran corner and star special teamer will “be out for a while.”On Oct. 8, Dorsey was transferred to injured reserve. (Updated: Oct. 8)
Tight end Shane Zylstra
Zylstra left the team’s game against Chicago on Sept. 14 in the first half with an ankle injury. He was in a walking boot after the game.
Zylstra was placed on injured reserve on Sept. 16. He’d first be eligible to return for the team’s Week 7 game against Tampa Bay. (Updated: Sept. 16)
Offensive tackle Jamarco Jones
Jones suffered an Achilles injury during the team’s Sept. 4 practice and was placed on injured reserve two days later. He has been ruled out for the season. (Updated: Sept. 10)
Safety Dan Jackson
Jackson suffered a leg injury during practice on Aug. 3 and was placed on injured reserve the following day.
Cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
Rakestraw suffered a chest contusion after a violent midfield collision during the team’s first training camp practice. A few days after returning to action, the second-year cornerback suffered a shoulder injury during a tackling drill. He was placed on injured reserve four days later and has since undergone surgery.
Offensive lineman Colby Sorsdal
Sorsal suffered a leg injury in the team’s preseason game against Atlanta on Aug. 8 and was placed on injured reserve Aug. 10.
Linebacker Ezekiel Turner
Turner suffered a possible Achilles injury in the third quarter of Saturday’s preseason game against the Texans after getting bent backward awkwardly during a play.
“We’re getting tests on that, but that was a significant injury, it looks like,” Campbell said after the game.
Turner was placed on injured reserve when the team cut its roster to 53 players on Aug. 26.
Defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike
After dealing with nagging knee pain this offseason, a medical evaluation revealed the lineman needed surgery to repair a damaged ACL. He’s been ruled out for the season.

Thanks for the updates. Hopefully this will be a far less referenced part of the DFN this season.
