Thank you, Justin. They’re still blaming Holmes for the wasted picks he used for Hook and Brodric over on X. Keep this Forum a level up from that.

Awesome! Another Oklahoma State Cowboy! My alma mater along with Rodriguez and the GOAT!

I don't see the gains here over what we had on the D-line. Bringing back Smith might make more sense. If Davenport can play the entire season, it might not matter. Gigantic if, though.

Do u think Ahmed Hassenein has a handshake deal to sign back here on practice squad when his injury settlement date expires? That would be awesome!

I’m curious to see which QB Brad signs to the PS.

Lynn Dodds's avatar

I'm going to assume Rodrigo replaces one of the current LB's on his return. Maybe they keep seven LB's and release one of the many DT's depending how injuries go. Gotta love the intrigue. Best reality show on earth!

We finally got an Inside The Den Draft episode, now let’s get a Cuts and Claims episode!!

Wow- so....does that mean detroit will get these players signed? Or would someone like hooker think about signing elsewhere for maybe a better shot?

Justin Rogers's avatar

Hooker already has signed somewhere else. He's going to Carolina. Brodric is going to Tennessee. Source, me.

Ah fair, was probably too much to think he'd want to stick around especially after the "change of scenery" comments.

Jason's avatar

I think that was more a commentary on whether the Lions wanted him to stick around.

Sione Vaki survives latest cuts with injury history. Why?

Justin Rogers's avatar

Because you don't cut a player who fills a role with expertise because his hamstring is strained. That would be like an office job firing someone for getting the flu.

I’m just excited to see that we signed a maven.

I hoped by wink lands.

Still have room for a certain EDGE with the initials Z.S. 🤔

These two DL are basically place holders till Paschal and Alim are back. It’s all about who stays the longest. I’m not sure both make it thru to week one

Deacon's avatar

Isn’t that just signing off other teams practice squads? I don’t think that applies to waiver pickups

Deacon's avatar

‘When a player is added to a team via waivers, they are put on the team's roster but are still subject to the waiver rules for a set amount of time, often around 24 hours to several days’

I think this is to keep a team at the top of the list like Tennessee to pickup guys on waivers and trading them immediately

Jeffrey Hooker's avatar

I think when you pick someone up on waivers you have to keep them on the active roster for four weeks.

Justin Rogers's avatar

I'm not aware of that being a rule. I am aware of that being the case with practice squad poachings. Pretty sure I've seen guys claimed and waived within days.

Steve Harris's avatar

A team can cut a guy at any time after being claimed.

Jim Pen's avatar

yeah you are correct, kinda addled in my old age I guess, I was thinking off being signed off PS

AA's avatar

Shout out to Brad Holmes. Man, he really knows what he’s doing. To get a sixth round pick for an aging receiver who had a bad camp. To know that everyone was going to go unclaimed. That gave him the flexibility to go to 50 and see who he might be able to pick up and give a try. Just brilliant all the way around. The dude knows what he’s doing.

David Montgomery’s Carrot's avatar

I think they have a whole team of talent evaluators who are doing a great job in both finding talent and predicting who will not get picked up

AA's avatar

Totally agree. Would love to be a fly on the wall seeing how they do that. I find it incredible.

Holmes and co. continue to make strategic and thoughtful decisions and clearly communicate these to all stakeholders ensuring that relationships and dignity is at the forefront.
