Allen Park — Here are some notes and observations from the Detroit Lions’ Friday morning training camp practice.

● Prior to practice, the Lions announced a transaction. The team swapped out tight ends, cutting second-year man Zach Horton to re-sign veteran Anthony Firkser.

This marks Firkser’s third stint with the Lions. The 31 year old spent time with the team in 2022 and was re-added to the roster last year, following Sam LaPorta’s season-ending injury.

Firkser appeared in seven games for the Lions down the stretch, including four starts. He paced the position group with eight receptions for 53 yards after LaPorta went down.

● In critical participation news, guard Christian Mahogany was activated off the non-football injury list. In his first day back, he rotated first-team reps with Juice Scruggs.
