I think Ratledge will end up right guard and Glasgow center but Ratledge will get back up reps because Glasgow won’t last all 17 games

Mahogany- L guard- Ratledge or Glasgow- center, one or the other- R guard. Watch out for Frazier or/and Kingsley E.

Downgrading my record prediction from 17-0 to 16-1. I was hoping something would happen to make things interesting 😁

No disrespect to Frank the Tank in any way whatsoever, but can I just say this totally sucks?

Heading into last year, I thought we could finally get to the SB as long as we didn’t lose Goff, Ragnow, Sewell, or Hutch.

Other players were important, but those four were irreplaceable.

We lost Hutch (and practically everyone else on defense), and now Frank is gone forever.

We’re still in a great situation, but this loss is absolutely massive.

Interesting.

Kind of sounds like they have Mahagony penciled in at OG now, notice he wasn't mentioned as a Center candidate. Could have just been an oversight by Campbell.

Sounds like they want Glasgow out there for his experience, but it might be at guard with Ratledge playing Center.

Believe Fraley was OL coach when they played Ragnow at guard for his rookie season, but that would have been Caldwell's call, and he was more conservative than these guys. Campbell is more likely to throw someone out there and let him learn like they did with Arnold last year while Caldwell was always easing someone in.

This might be more like Jack Campbell and Anzalone, especially with Tate not having any real experience at Center.

Come to think of it, forget the part where I say Tate is the Center, I can see Glasgow playing Center while Tate and a little Frazier and whomever playing guard for a year.

I've never seen Mahogany snap a ball. He's been left guard at these OTA practices. Graham wasn't even here today and Mahogany didn't snap.

He didn't get any snaps there last year either.

Just as well, how many inexperienced players do you want to work with at one time. Leave Mahagony at LG and let him develop. BTW, looks like they weighed in on LG or RG for Mahagany.

Seems like the timing of the Colon signing suggests the front office was at least a little surprised?

I would say it indicates reaction, not surprise. They held Ragnow's spot as if he were returning and added to the roster when they learned he wasn't.

More likely Rag's waited for June 2nd to allow lions to do a June 1st cut to allow his cap to hit between the two years. The fact Colon signed so quickly after Frank officially retiring means they probably had a deal in place and were just waiting for the official retirement so they did not have to cut someone to make room for Colon until Frank officially retired.

Are you even reading this post? It says:

"Campbell acknowledged the team had known for some time that Ragnow was contemplating stepping away, and he was in regular communication with the team."

Not sure how you got that.

I don’t think that’s the case. There’s always a short list for when a roster spot comes open. In this case Frank retired and Colon topped the list. He likely won’t make the 53 but he’s getting a shot to impress.
