'Lions Collective' podcast: Talking joint practice, underappreciated players and the backup QB situation
The “Lions Collective” debuted last week.
If you haven’t heard — and if you’re a Detroit Football Network subscriber, that’s unlikely — it’s a weekly roundtable discussion with me, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic, 97.1-FM’s Will Burchfield and Crunch Time Sports’ Jeff Iafrate.
I was so focused on making sure the operation went smoothly for the first episode that I forgot to share the finished product. Humorously, it was the second week that we hit some bumps. It’s a live show, streaming at 6 p.m. EST every Wednesday, but technical issues delayed our start by 15 minutes.
Good thing we made a strong first impression.
Don’t worry, we still went the full hour this week. This group has too much to say to cut things short. And, more importantly, I’m remembering to share the archived replay.
For this week’s episode, we dove deeper into the first day of joint practices with the Miami Dolphins, talked about some of the roster’s underappreciated talent, and touched on the always-popular backup QB debate.
Currently, the show only exists on YouTube, but it’s only a matter of time before the feed gets integrated with Spotify, Apple and other popular podcast providers. I understand that’s the preferred way for some of you to consume multimedia content. I promise, it’s on the agenda.
In closing, you know the drill with these things. If you enjoy the show, be sure to subscribe. Enjoy.
It is great coverage of current events. Keep it up and thanks.
Subscribed right after (maybe before(?)) hitting “Play” — no brainer, really. Two of my favorite Lions beat writers — I’m definitely watching/listening — and looking forward to getting to know Burchie and Jeff!
