Is Sheppard the right fit at DC? Denying they were gashed in the run game against the Rams and then laying an absolute turd in defending the run against the Stealers. I expected better
Lion's 2025 season: RIP. I am done with the NFL this year. Maybe they will replace the refs with A/i for next season. At least the Red Wings and Pistons have a pulse (for now).
No question about the disappointment I’m experiencing right now… at several levels already articulated above. I believe my disappointment is heightened because of the incredible amount of information my subscription to this service has provided this season. I feel more connected to the team in general and with many of the players and coaches in particular. That’s my plus-takeaway from this season. Thanks for making this a more informed season for me, Justin. It’s impossible for me, or any other subscriber I think, to find comfort in a same ol’ Lions mantra with everything I know about this incarnation of the franchise, thanks to your hard work and ability to communicate. (Also love the pod now, too.) Looking forward to your words this offseason as well.
I am so done with the steam 50 years of watching them telling me they’re gonna do something and making me believe that today is gonna be different and it’s not they’ve ripped the heart out of my chest too many times and stomped on it losing to a 95 year-old Aaron Rodgers is the last straw for me. I’m gonna go watch girls basketball or something, but I am so done with this team.
So see you in the draft threads? I get it though the expectations were high even when we lost an all pro center and like 7 of our coaches...probably should have been more realistic with our enthusiasm. Even then there wasn't a single game we lost this year that wasn't winnable so its not like this team is re-building.
To be honest it's a relief to put the Lions away for the year. The offensive line was a stunning miscalculation by Dan and Brad. That's not to say they haven't done a fantastic job overall since taking over. I have confidence that it will be addressed in the off season. But let's call it what it was, a mistake that doomed the season before it began. The Pistons are off to a great start and it looks to be an exciting year. Eastern conference finals anyone?
Once again, Montgomery was left on the bench collecting dust. It's a serious mistake by Campbell, given that his style of running looked more effective the couple of times he touched the ball. I really don't understand the logic.
Both OPI calls were legit in my opinion. St. Brown pushed off and Teslaa ran a pick. Teslaa had the game in his hands and couldn't hold on, so we had our shots. Overall, we didn't deserve that win given how awful our defense was and inconsistent our offense was. Running game is a serious concern. I think if we get TA, Rakestraw, Kerby, and BB back and healthy next year we'll be better, but still not a great defense. Our pass rush sucks and I worry Shep isn't the answer, but who knows if this was a learning season. My #1 concern is O-line, because that's a project that might take more than one year to fix. Personally, I think we need a new OC so Dan can focus on the macro game strategy and not calling plays. Regardless, that's three heartbreaking seasons in a row, though, and it's hard to keep emotionally investing, but I'm sure I'll be all-in come next season like I have been for 40+ years. Safe holidays to everyone.
Yes, if he would have just turned around like he was running a hook or a comeback route then there would have been no call, the lowering the shoulder and bracing for impact shows intent to make contact...I get it its tough to do but that is what that play requires.
St. Brown literally targeted the guy in the end zone, pushed off and turned around. No complaint about the penalty, aside from the usual routine of the refs cloistering for minutes as if they were electing a pope.
Just like the Rams game, Pittsburgh was running for 5 and 6 yards a crack while playing keep-away against a Charmin-soft coverage scheme. That was the game--and the season. We couldn't get other offenses off the field, while our guys couldn't dominate as in seasons past.
when...they were down by two scores going and got the ball 1 time in the entire 3rd quarter. The interior of the oline was not holding up to have monte pound his way out of the endzone.
out coached all season? lions have the #1 offense in the nfl. the lions lost because they can not stop the run and injuries. the offensive line can not run block either due to injuries. this has nothing to do with coaching.

I’m so frustrated. What a terrible waste of a season. DC needs to change so many things. Gaslighting us is one.

I think you are right about my expectations, Frank was just too big of a loss. I love Glasgow but he is no Frank.
I was hoping GG was going to be the first guard off the bench incase of injuries...Ragnow retiring really hurt.
I still love you, Tom.
I like you and there is no way that I'm not continuing to be a member here. This team has disappointed me, but you never have.
Thank you.
2026 draft. OT, DE, C, DB, DB.

I agree on ASB but not on TeSlaa…I thought he was pushed or at least directed that way by the other defender
I think it was because he turned his shoulder into the defender, but that's just what I read. But yes he was misdirected. A tight call for sure.

Especially on the D right side
The worst rushing game in 2 decades? Oof that’s depressing to read.
They should have run Monty more
when...they were down by two scores going and got the ball 1 time in the entire 3rd quarter. The interior of the oline was not holding up to have monte pound his way out of the endzone.
All the playoff scenarios were a waste of breath.
Full credit for not giving up. Zero credit for getting pushed around by a mediocre team all day.
Same old lions
How's your vision coverage at work?
