It was the right call and a stupid play by TeSlaa. Watch the tape. The defender is trying to going over the top to get to ARSB. All TeSlaa had to do was turn around and stop. The DB would never get to Saint in time with the route he was taking. Unnecessary to do anything other than turn around - shoving his shoulder into him was dumb.

If the OL keeps the QB clean in the pocket, then he will get his opportunities.

TeSlaa is right; the defender ran into him much more than he ran into the defender. Yes, he lowered his shoulder, which was a reaction to the defender coming right at him. If he doesn't do this, he ends up on his back. Terrible call. It cost the Lions the game and maybe the playoffs.

Young man has the right attitude. That’s going to serve him very well from now on.

He’s home grown and I’m going to root for him. Not his fault he was drafted in the third round. It frustrating to hear people say he needs to start playing like a third round pick. He has some strengths the other receivers don’t have so let’s let him develop and see what next year will bring. Great article Justin.

There are two rookie receivers in the NFL with more touchdowns (barely) than TeSlaa. They are both high first-rounders with at least five times as many targets.

Thanks for writing this Justin. I know it’s been a long day.
