NFL draft look ahead: 10 Round 2 fits and five Round 3 trade-up options for Detroit Lions
Allen Park — The Detroit Lions solved one of the team’s biggest long-term needs on the first night of the 2026 NFL draft, snagging Clemson offensive tackle Blake Miller with the No. 17 overall pick.
Now, it’s on to Friday’s Day 2, which covers Rounds 2 and 3 of the annual event.
Somewhat unfortunately, the Lions only hold one pick on Day 2 after shipping a pair of third-rounders to the Jacksonville Jaguars last year in a bold move up the board to grab wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa.
The Lions are slated to select 18th on the night, No. 50 overall, but there’s no guarantee they stay in that spot. General manager Brad Holmes hinted Thursday night at moving down to gain more draft equity. Alternatively, the team could look to package some of their seven Day 3 selections to climb into the back end of the third round.
With so many balls up in the air, let’s look at 10 fits for the Lions in the second round, as well as five options who could potentially linger on the board long enough to merit a trade back into the third round.
