Linebacker Jacob Rodriguez and safety Michael Taffe are two of six rookies starting for the Miami Dolphins.

Allen Park — If there’s one thing you can count on when the Detroit Lions play the Miami Dolphins, it’s that they’re going to have a different coach from the previous matchup.

Maybe that’s not particularly unusual in a league that chews up coaches and spits them out. In fact, nearly a third of NFL teams have someone new at the helm this season.

Still, it’s noteworthy that this will be the seventh straight matchup between the sides, dating back to 2002, where the Dolphins will have someone new wearing the headset on the sideline.

The Dolphins are one of those 10 NFL teams with a new coach this year. This past offseason, they dismissed Mike McDaniel — who was briefly considered for Detroit’s offensive coordinator vacancy — before hiring Green Bay defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.
