Lions coach Dan Campbell, wide receivers and assistant head coach Scottie Montgomery and offensive line coach and run game coordinator Hank Fraley met with the media on Tuesday. Here are the highlights from those sessions.
What chaps my ass is that now that the Lions have a very good team so do the other 3 teams in the division. GB did not have to deal with this when they won their 12 division titles.
Division road games: Ravens, Bengals, Chiefs, Commanders, Eagles, Rams. Plus playing in best division top to bottom. With their schedule I'll be happy with 10-7 and a wild card spot.
My learning last year is record doesn’t matter as long as we make tournament and playing our best come tournament time. If we do that we have as good a chance as anyone regardless of home field advantage.
Also known as 1-technique, an alignment between the center and guard, as opposed to directly over the center. On zone runs, a center needs to be agile enough to cross the face of that defender and wall them off. Here's a longer description of the position: https://weeklyspiral.com/2021/11/15/1-technique-shade
What's the use? The media is ready to crown the Packers SB champs. They love the Pack more than the Lions because of all that mystique, history and hard nose winter weather.
One of the reasons I'm a paid subscriber here is because of Justin's objective reporting. It's a big reason I truly say "who cares what the rest of the media days about the Lions". You should try it! 😉
The details that come out of these press conferences about the players on this team from Justin are awesome. The Lions may get beaten in a given game, but it's not through a lack of preperation or persperation. It is so different from the decades before. It is probably the difference maker of why our "camp darlings" don't see the final roster or the practice squad.
14-3, book it!

"ope" 👀
Thanks, Justin. Can't wait until Sunday! One question- can you explain Fraley's comments about 'reaching shade"? I didn't understand that.

Much appreciated and thanks for the info.
Thanks for asking about shade.

"The media." We're just a uniform body that meets twice a week to decide things.
I KNEW IT!

With Awosika being the emergency center, does that make him 3rd on the list or possibly 2nd depending on who is active?
I'd say third, maybe fourth. Glasgow, Eguakun, then either Ratledge/Awosika.
