It felt like our defense was getting more pressure on the QB and I liked how we kept that up. Unfortunately, they adjusted and Olave, in particular, proved difficult to cover. On the O side, we made uncharacteristic mistakes like some of those drops that just shouldn't happen. Perhaps 1st game jitters, rust, whatever. We shouldn't thrown in the towel because we didn't kill them. Supposedly the Saints defense ended last season being one of the tougher groups to play against. That could be part of the struggle along with a not-yet-gelled O line.

I'm not happy about winning this way either, so looking for some encouraging pieces from others. I am hoping we surprise Buffalo next week. They're going to expect we're not that good and underestimate us.

I know it's the first game. That said...

>Receiver room is looking empty. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta. That's it.

Jameson had 3 drops today (2 passes, one trick play handoff). TeSlaa? MIA as usual. Anyone after that? This won't do it.

>RB room needs a quality 2nd back. I've said my piece on Sione Vaki as our running back before. He's not the one. You don't go from David Montgomery to Sione Vaki. We need a real 2nd running back. A bruiser. Someone with a different style than Gibbs. And Gibbs cannot have that many touches or he won't make it to game 10.

>Defense: Looks exactly like last years D. And the year before that. Nothing much seems to be different. It's not enough.

Very underwhelmed by the seeming lack of intensity and overall play. Surprising, really. But...let's see how they correct. I will say that Josh Allen will have a field day with this defense, however.

When your secondary is mostly career backups even average quarterbacks are going are going to throw for big numbers.

Another year of mediocre Lions.

Worst win I have ever seen

Having a hard time being optimistic about our secondary.

Some of these comments are silly. Relax, its week 1 and The Lions are 1-0.

Nice defense lol. Josh Allen is licking his lips! Can you say blowout?

That was basically the NyG game last year.

I’ll take the W, considering that the Lions tend to underperform at home.

Gibbs won't last a month at this rate. Very unimpressive game plan by Petzing. And a very familiar porous look by that D. Still a win's a win...

Thanks for the heartburn guys! Wow! Glad to start the year with a W but can we please make the next one easier.

Drew Petzing: not covering himself with glory in the first half and too much work for Gibbs week 1 against a chump opponent. Jamo’s hands get to be the embarrassing failed talking point of the off season. Just one game, but this does not look like a defense capable of covering for a poorly designed offense…
