Hopefully, the Lions will start the regular season next week as the fifth exhibition game was a total dud. I saw nothing different from the previous four preseason games in yesterday's chilling debacle. We even had a TeSlaa TD to boot! Will this turn out to be the Parson's curse?
As bad as it could be for a team with this much talent. Shake it off, go back to work, fix the issues, get better. I know they can, and I believe that they will. Win 10-11 games, get into the playoffs, be healthy in January. And beat the Pack in their return trip.
A good run game opens up the passing game. We were stymied with that today. Just a few deep balls all day ‘cause there wasn’t enough room out there. Play action on first down seemed to work once we started using it. Hopefully Morton will learn a lot here. Lions need to line up all their weapons early in possessions. That’s our best hand, not a pounding ground game, which, from my chair in front of the TV seemed to be the game plan yesterday.
I really expected MORE! What a huge disappointment. Hutch and the D looked SLOW and easily blocked, play calling on offense was quite offensive! I really am not looking forward to next week. It will really suck if the Bears beat us at home. As far as I am concerned, SOL, or as my family has termed them since 2016- LLL Lovable Loser Lions. I realize that players missed assignments, but good coordinators are able to call the plays that allow you to hide your weaknesses. I wanted J Moe to show the experience he touts, but honestly he showed us why he has not been a coordinator since the Jets. All that talk about not being nervous because he has been doing it so long. Maybe he should be nervous. I won't be surprised if Dan is calling plays by week 5. That being said: Go LIONS!
Very disappointing. If Lions needed a wake up call, that was it! Packers wiped the floor with them, I hope the embarrassment becomes a positive motivator.
I didn't expect the Lions to go undefeated this season. 68 years of being a Lions fan has taught me that. But I did think that the offense would be strong in this game with no injuries going into it and a lot of time to prepare a plan. I did expect the OL and DL to be strong and effective. I thought the backfield would produce some exciting runs. I hoped the DBs would cover closely. But it was not to be. Maybe the next games reveal if the hunted Lions can return to being the hunter. It is a long season. Time will tell.
Lions were 1-6 in the red zone against the Buccs in week 2. Took until week 4 to really getting going. OL looked bad and needs to grow up fast. Defense wasn’t good in first half. Packers definitely wanted it more.
The most inept I've seen the Lions under DC. The DL did a great job on the run game, but offered literally no pressure on Love. The OL...holy cow...that was awful. They'd better get their act together in a hurry.
And yes- the Lions should have drafted a dominant edge rusher or paid for one in FA.
OL is the key though. If they cannot get their game together, it'll be a long season.
Brian Branch is too smart a player to do that helmet crap. I hope Campbell gets nose-to-nose with him and inquires about his priorities. Getting your picture on the NFL's post office wall with Carter and Walker is not going to do anything positive for the team.

Mind boggling that Gibbs got the first six touches, I believe. You mean the Pack weren't expecting that? They keyed on Gibbs the entire game

I thought the middle three on the offensive line was going to be the real problem. It sure showed up.
Packers punter deserved the game ball. He had an incredible game

Saw you say you talked to Terrion? Does that mean he’s all good or is it only after concussions players can’t talk if injured?

By golly now THAT looks like the Lions team we all know and endure. Seems the Coach Dan magic has worn off.
Oh shhh even if we fall off this year Dan will figure it out

Looking forward to the film review by Justin this week. I saw a few concerning things, and am curious to see his thoughts on the film.
Gonna be a loooooong year if they can’t run with the interior ol and the three stooges. Goff is just a golfball on a tee for the d
Appropriate to give game ball to Love. Lions did not show up to play. Oof.
I would have given it to Parsons whose very presence spooked the Lions.
