Allen Park — The Detroit Lions’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday temporarily dropped them out of the NFC playoff picture.

With seven weeks remaining, and the conference’s top-heavy standings, the margin for error down the stretch is rapidly shrinking.

Heading into this Sunday’s home game against the New York Giants, which kicks off three games at Ford Field in 12 days, here’s where everything stands in the NFC.

Division leaders

Philadelphia Eagles (8-2)

Remaining opponents: @DAL, vs. CHI, @LAC, vs. LV, @WSH, @BUF, vs. WSH

Holding the No. 1 seed after a thrilling head-to-head victory over the Rams in Week 3, the Eagles have a strong chance to maintain homefield advantage in the NFC with one of the league’s easier remaining schedules.

The biggest challenges ahead are this week’s divisional game against the Cowboys and a December road trip to Buffalo, neither of which is particularly daunting.

The Eagles do have issues to sort out between now and January, particularly with a disjointed offense scoring 14% fewer points per game than a year ago.

Record prediction: 13-4

Los Angeles Rams (8-2)

Remaining opponents: vs. TB, @CAR, @ARI, vs. DET, @SEA, @ATL, vs. ARI
