The one unanswered question, Justin, is why five teams in five seasons? Is it performance-based? Injuries? Salary? Culture fit? Or have you answered this in previous coverage?
Colts traded him to raiders> Raiders didn't resign him after injury or he chose free agency as his contract was up after injury>Played in 14 games with 1 start with Baltimore > 13 games no start with the 49ers > Signed with the Lions. Assuming injury has kept him from getting any long term deals from any one so he keeps signing prove it deals.
Thanks. You’ve given me his roadmap but I don’t know much more about why he keeps landing on off-ramps, other than the ubiquitous and unspecified injury bug. Probably a question only a DC, coach or GM he has played for could answer. I ask because I find “anatomy-of-a-journeyman” stories fascinating.
So much of it for most becomes age and opportunity. Teams would rather invest in youth with 3-4 years of contractual control, where there's a return on investment with development. Five years into your career, you're already knocking on the door of 30 years old.
I appreciate the backstory of Abdurrahman, who I discounted when the Lions signed him after several NFL stops. I'm still amazed at the little bit I've seen of him, but sometimes you need the right soil for a flower to blossom. It looks like the Lions are providing that. Yay!!
I try to pace myself in reading your articles. If I read everything as soon as you put it out I know I’ll have nothing to read until tomorrow, maybe. Then I feel like the kid who ate all his Halloween candy that night and has nothing the next day.

Speed and quickness along with tackling is the key to a DB/Safety making this team.

Great article. I have a sneaky feeling the Lions are going to need more able bodies.
Great profile as always!

Summer sucks.
At least pre-season is here.
All my Halloween candy is gone. 😂
