What are the Detroit Lions getting in Kendrick Law? We roll the tape on rookie WR with a knack for YAC
Allen Park — If there was one position I paid no mind ahead of the draft, it was wide receiver.
It’s not that the Detroit Lions didn’t have room to add depth, there just wasn’t enough time available to invest into identifying a fifth option who could potentially develop into WR4.
Yet, on the draft’s third and final day, the Lions didn’t just draft a receiver, they traded up to get one, selecting Kentucky’s Kendrick Law in the fifth round.
Law had caught the eye of general manager Brad Holmes a year earlier, when the receiver was completing his third season at Alabama. However, when the GM learned the prospect was returning to school, he tucked the evaluation away for another season.
Ahead of this draft, Holmes revisited the prospect, and became increasingly enthused after learning more about Law’s special teams contributions.
With all that in mind, let’s dig into the prospect and see what the film shows.
