Detroit Lions OC film review, Part III: Takeaways from Drew Petzing's red zone play-calling?
At this point, assuming you’ve found the time to read our comprehensive reviews of Drew Petzing’s run game and passing attack during his time in Arizona, you should have a far better grasp of the incoming Detroit Lions’ coordinator’s foundational schematic preferences and philosophies, even if they’ll ultimately be modified to best fit his new team’s personnel.
To close out our three-part film review on Petzing’s offense in Arizona, we’re going to look at the team’s red zone performance.
Unlike the previous two segments in this series, our focus will strictly be on the 2025 season. Studying the tape of all 61 of the Cardinals' red-zone trips, we can understand some of the tendencies and concepts Petzing embraced with a roster that battled significant attrition at nearly every position.
And, as always, we’ll do our best to correlate how Petzing’s play-calling with the Cardinals could translate to what he’s inheriting in Detroit.
