Good thing the Lions didn’t move their hospital beds. Maybe they can trade them for a new MRI machine since they wore the last one out.

Just to be clear:

“In law, to "toll" means to suspend or pause the running of a time period, most commonly the statute of limitations, preventing the clock from counting down until certain conditions are met.”

kinda good news.

To clarify, does that mean the cap space also rolls over from last year to cover them this year?

So the Lions never paid Levi anything last year, and since his contract tolled, we essentially fast-forwarded a year and carried the same contract over?

The good thing on Levi’s injury last year is it had nothing to do with his back. No reason he can’t come back fully from the ACL and the benefit of a full year of rest for his back.

Good injury news for a change. But I'm a little confused - Do I read that correct that the two players did NOT receive their 2025 salary?

Injury settlement?

Levi is the guy we always thought would be a serious force, but could never stay on the field. It would be a wonderful surprise if he had a pain-free year and could get the chance to produce.

So if I understand this, the Lions did not pay him last year and it’s like he just signed the same contract for this year?

Never heard the term toll in this context. Does it basically mean the contract rolls over to the next season?

It's akin to tolling the statute of limitations in a legal context.

I suspected that we might try on a minimum contract but this is just as good. Can always cut if doesn’t work out

I actually like this a lot. At this point, it's clear Levi is not a player you can build a future around, but he's almost certainly a better option than what you can get in free agency for what he'll be making next year. If he's around and he's healthy, you might as well keep him.
